2. Where did you go to school? 

(HS) Guaynabo, Puerto Rico 

Bachelors', Paralegal Certificate, and Executive Master’s Business Administration degree, California State University, San Bernardino

 

3. Fun fact about yourself 

My first language was Spanish. When I came to the US from Puerto Rico as a teenager, I had to watch the "Laverne and Shirley", and "The Odd Couple" comedy shows to better learn the slang and humor in English! 

 

4. Hobbies

I love the outdoors and you can find me road cycling, hiking, or doing sprint events. 

I am an indoor cycle instructor and Barre Above instructor.

I enjoy reading and love music! 

I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren

 

Bio

Ines Montes-Stewart has more than 30 years combined experience in the areas of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I), leadership development, and mortgage servicing. Montes-Stewart, was the Vice President and Head of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion for several divisions under Wells Fargo, providing support to more than 44,000 employees. She designed leader-led diversity and inclusion efforts across global regions.  With responsibility for developing and implementing strategies aligned to the firm’s business goals, she also tracked and reported on the ROI of initiatives and provided consultation to the C-Suite leaders. Montes-Stewart designed and led leadership and mentoring programs, to advance team member development and engagement, foster a diverse and inclusive environment, and meet the firm’s goals and customer needs.

Montes-Stewart, was instrumental in the implementation of the first-ever Race panel conversations, across leaders and employees to address sentiments around racial injustices and systemic racism, having an attendance of 10,000+ virtual employees.

Montes-Stewart served as Call Center Leader for Wells Fargo’s Customer Service, Collections, Loss Mitigation, (CA and MN), and led the translation of end-to-end customer documentation. She expanded the bilingual Spanish customer support and created the first Asian customer support team to serve our customers’ needs, earning the company’s 2014 Diversity Champion Award.

Ms. Montes Stewart, who is a bi-lingual communicator, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Management, a Paralegal Certificate, and an Executive MBA from California State University, San Bernardino, CA. She published her research on Strategizing for Corporate Social Responsibility: Wells Fargo Case at the OSC Journal of Student Research Inaugural Volume in 2013.

In support of her community, she served on the Board for the Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern California, also known as Candlelighters for 15 years, providing bilingual support to the families of children who had cancer. For three years she served on the board for Dignity Health Foundation, Community Hospital of SB to help her community hospital needs.  She currently serves on two boards: 1. The San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra Board, as a Second Vice President, where she focuses on educational outreach, bringing access to arts and music to the local students in our communities.2. The Mountains Community Hospital Foundation Board, where she engages actively with the board in providing support to the Hospital and giving back to the Mountain community.

As part of her commitment to well-being and personal fitness, she is a certified Indoor Cycle instructor at EoS gym in Redlands and a certified Barre Above instructor at Arrowhead Fitness. During her spare time, Montes-Stewart enjoys family time, bicycling, hiking, and reading.
